It's hard to believe that it's been three months since I've written. I got the results back from Puss's latest bloodwork, and it's not good: BUN 57 Puss hasn't been doing great the last couple of months. It's become a real struggle to keep her eating, and she's getting cypro daily now. She's also been having loose stools (not diarrhea) for quite some time. The holistic vet thinks she may have IBD or lymphona. But things are not bleak yet. We're going to daily fluids, something I felt we should do even before I got the bloodwork results. I'm going to double the Phosphorus binders, too. No wonder she hasn't been feeling well! I'm hopeful that in a couple of weeks we can have her feeling better again. My latest in a long bag of tricks to keep her eating: Kitty Kaviar. It's thin, dried flakes of bonito tuna. Puss isn't really a big tuna freak, but this gets her eating. Petco also sells this as PetGold Dried Bonito Flakes, and she seems to think that's equally as good. I also take her out into the boy's kennel several times a week, when the weather's nice. She usually seems to enjoy this, and really likes to eat grass. Luckily it doesn't make her throw up. |
