A Long Overdue Update!

Puss sneaks the boys' toys

To all who've written to ask about Puss: I'm sorry it's been almost a year since I've updated! It got away from me. Yes, she's still with me.

In general, she's still doing pretty good. She's had a lot of ups and downs in the past year, but nothing serious. She's having a very good week this week; she's been annoyingly hungry, in fact. I've been able to cut back a bit on her Cypro dose (now down to just a little under 1/4 tablet a day).

She still gets Pet Tinic (1 ML 2 x day), Basalgel (1 capsule x day), Slippery Elm Powder (1 capsule x day), Cosequin (1 capsule every other day), Tumil-K once a week, 125 ML LRS x day, and 1 Renafood tablet x day.

I take her out into the kennel on nice days, two or three days a week. She loves this, even if she rarely stays out more than half an hour. But she'll actually hop into the carrier herself, which is pretty amazing considering she used to fight the carrier tooth & nail.

She also learned how to use the cat door last summer! It only took about a week. She won't use it to go out, but she'll use it to go back in. I was pretty impressed that an 18-yr-old cat could learn to use a cat door.

She spends most of her days in my office with me, on her pillow, and her nights in "her" bathroom, on her pillow. She often comes out at night when we're watching TV to lay on either me or my husband, whoever is handiest.

The boys pretty much leave her alone these days, except on rare occasions. But she likes to lick their catnip toys (see picture above) when the boys aren't around.
