Cleo has stopped eating yet again. I call the vet, who agrees to call in the Flagyl to be compounded in an ear gel. Because she won't eat, I can't give her the Flagyl, and she's having terrible diarrhea. It's literally like she's peeing poop. She tries really hard to make it to the litter box; I know it's to please me and it breaks my heart. We also decide to try shots of the Dexamethasone. This is our last gasp; if this doesn't work, then I'll know it's time. She's getting Clavamox in the ear. I give her the Dex (6 mg) in her fluids this afternoon. It doesn't seem to effect her appetite, and I worry that I didn't get the shot properly into the fluids. But it's a large amount I'm sure I would have seen it if it didn't go in? Up til now, she got .125 mg a day. This shot is supposed to last one week. |
