This weekend I tried a little Iams Senior Formula catfood; Cleo loved it. I mixed it with the Prescription Diet K/D. Of course this morning, she couldn't be less interested in it. I tried feeding her in the morning, as usual, but she wouldn't eat. It just breaks my heart when I know she's hungry but she won't eat. I decided to let her wait a bit longer, figuring that she'll eat when she gets hungry. But no, an hour later she still wasn't interested in food. Until, of course, I brought out the tuna can. So I added a little bit of tuna to the mixture of foods and she ate about half of it. She never seems to eat everything I give her, even though it's a miniscule amount. I keep trying to give her less at a time, but it seems that no matter how little I give her, she won't eat it all. By about the third feeding, she's lost interest in eating. I finally get her started by waving the tuna can under her nose. Then when she stops eating, I wave some tuna on a fork under her nose, and when she starts to go for it, I put the fork into the food. Usually she gets some of the solid food in with the tuna, and then I have to repeat the process all over again. Strangely, Cleo seems to want to be with me more than she has lately all day. While she doesn't lay directly on me, she wants to be near me. She curls up near me as I'm working on the computer, and when I'm reading in the recliner, she lays on the arm. Next >> |
