Cleo didn't want to eat at all this morning. I finally tempted her to eat some cottage cheese, but when I got back a couple of hours later, it was spewed all over the floor. I was getting so depressed. It looked like she was leaving us, and I just couldn't believe that she would get so sick so fast. It's only been about a month since diagnosis! Then someone on the mailing list I subscribe to said that some cats just can't tolerate Pepcid. And I realized that her turn for the worse correlated with giving her Pepcid. So I stopped giving her any. Better to be gurgly and eating!

I had made an appointment with the vet to show me how to give Cleo subcutaneous fluids, but the earliest I could get on a Saturday was for next week. I'd wanted Lloyd along so that we could both see how it's done. But I changed the appointment to this Friday, because I just don't want to wait that long to start. I'm so hoping that the sub-q's will make a difference in Cleo's quality of life. |
