![]() Cleo with her water pouch from her first sub-q |
This morning Cleo was finally hungry! She still didn't eat much, but I think that's probably a good thing considering that she's eaten so little this week. She was ready for more food an hour after her first feeding, and did a pretty good job. She's once again following me around the house and laying near me.

She a little Friskies mixed with tuna throughout the day, but it took a lot of coaxing. She seemed a little less lethargic though, and she spent a lot of time curled up near me in my office. Plus she curled up next to me for the entire hour of ER! I'm really beginning to think that her downturn this week was due to the Pepcid. Of course, I still need some way to control her gastritis. I took Cleo to the vet today so that they could show me how to administer subcutaneous fluids (sub-q's). Surprisingly, she sat pretty still through the whole procedure, even through me sticking her repeately with the needle and not getting it correctly. Hopefully she won't be too bad at home. You can see the little water pouch she developed near her front legs. The vet also threw in a vitamin B shot. We have added Tumil-K to her meds for the potassium deficiency. In general, Cleo ate better today. She wanted to eat, although she didn't eat a whole lot at any one sitting. So far today she's kept everything down. I'm going to try giving her her Reglan in a tiny amount of food in the morning, then waiting twenty minutes or so for her main feeding. |
