The Case for Outdoors

Many an animal lover would argue that the outdoors is the cats' natural habitat:

  • A cat outdoors has much more room to run around and play, getting the exercise they need.

  • Cats are obligate carnivores. They must eat meat. The outdoors provides cats' natural prey: mice and rabbits.

  • Trees are natural scratching posts. An outdoors cat is much less likely to scratch up your furniture when they have trees to scratch.

  • Who can resist a cat sleeping in the sunshine, especially when it's natural sunshine, not sun filtered through our windows.

  • An outdoors cat has plenty of opportunity to exercise its mind, what with hunting prey and exploring its territory.
