Gizmo has earned the nickname "Energizer Bunny". He always wants to play. Every time one of us heads towards our family room, Gizmo runs in front of us to hang onto his toy drawer. Once the drawer is open, he assists us by picking out which toy he'd like to play with (although it's not always the one he gets).

He also has a tendency to take running leaps onto everything, and I have the scars to prove it. He never intentionally scratches me, but I'm beginning to think that I ought to trim his back claws, too, because that's where all the scratches come from.

Surprisingly, Gizmo is also the lap cat. He loves to lay on our laps, although of course only when he's in the mood. We've found Mexican blankets to be a good inducement to get him to lay on your lap.

He's shy of strangers intially, but he can usually be won over with a little patience and some play.
