Simba and Gizmo weren't so sure about Catnip Cookies the first time I gave them some, but they have definitely come to love them. I hope your cat enjoys them, too: just remember, treats should account for approximately 10% of your cat's diet.

Ingredients

• 1 cup whole wheat flour
• 2 tablespoons wheat germ
• ¼ cup soy flour
• 1/3 cup powdered milk
• 1 tablespoon milk
• ½ teaspoon bonemeal
• 1 teaspoon dried catnip leaves
• 1 tablspoon unsulfured molasses
• 1 egg
• 2 tablespoon butter
• 1/3 cup milk

Directions

• Preheat oven to 350°.

• Mix together whole wheat flour, wheat germ, soy flour, powdered milk, bonemeal, and catnip.

• Add molasses, egg, butter, and milk and mix well.

• Roll out thinly on greased cookie sheet.

• Cut into narrow strips. Score strips into bite size pieces, about the size of a pea.

• Bake for twenty minutes until lightly browned.

I find that the catnip cookies, if cooked properly, can be stored at room temperature in an airtight container indefinitely.
